Bicycle Fittings for customers purchasing a touring bicycle from Topanga Creek Bicycles
Finding the right size touring frame requires a proper fitting and interview. We measure your legs, arms, torso, hands, feet, shoulders and thighs prior to preparing a bicycle for you. Most people are proportionately different and have a wide variety of experiences that lead them to purchasing their next bike and each bicycle should be different. We patiently prepare each bicycle to the specifics of the individual.
Generally, we keep Surly Long Haul Truckers and Jamis Auroras in stock in the most common sizes (but not every size or color).
And, we ask that if you come to the shop to be fitted, you buy your bicycle from us, even if it means ordering it and you wait a few weeks.
Mountain bike sizing
Because of the various frame designs, suspension designs, head tube angles, wheel sizes, and fork designs, sizing on mountain bikes is dictated by personal preferences and riding style. We encourage customers to demo a handful of mountain bikes from the shop to make final purchasing decision.
